New York-based Susan Copich has created a thought-provoking photo project, titled ‘Domestic Bliss’ …

Having been a performer (dancer, actress) most of my life, then a camera carrying helicopter-mother, constantly snapping pictures of my family, one day my agent stopped calling, my babies grew up to be kids with their own opinions and attitudes, my marriage no longer felt shiny and new and I felt middle aged – irrelevant. I also realized I was missing from every family photo.

After taking some umpteenth, continuing education, photography class — to keep my sanity while doing the mommy thing — we studied some of Cindy Sherman’s work, that night, I turned the camera onto myself. All forms of art and pop culture influence my work, from the masters to film to literature to fashion magazines.
