Montreal, February 24, 2011—René Rozon, Director and Founder of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA), is proud to announce the programming for the 29th edition of this major event taking place from March 17 to 27.
To escape his hectic lifestyle in Madrid, the Chilean-born painter Claudio Bravo (born in 1936) moved to Morocco, where he owns three homes: in Taroudant, an invented house that serves as his refuge and fortress against the outside world; in Marrakesh, a small mansion in the Medina; and in Tangier, a transcendent garden. The colours of everyday life in Morocco influence the palette of his landscapes, compositions with figures and still lifes. The traditional Moroccan art objects he collects, especially textiles and ceramics, serve as models for his studies of form and colour.
